High-Risk Breast Surveillance Programme

Breast cancer is the most common female cancer in Hong Kong. Among all breast cancer patients, hereditary cancer constitutes 10-15%. Early detection and appropriate treatment can significantly improve breast cancer survival. Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry (called as The Registry) is now offering a free comprehensive High-Risk Breast Surveillance Programme. This is a first of its kind sponsored programme to include 3D mammogram, breast ultrasound and MRI breast scan. Priority will be given to those low and middle income groups. We guarantee genetic mutation carriers’ access to screening for early cancer detection.

What Will You Receive?
Eligible patients will receive free screening services including

  • 3D mammogram
  • Breast ultrasound
  • MRI breast scan

Who Are Eligible?
Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. A Hong Kong Permanent Resident
  2. Average monthly household income of less than HK$80,000
  3. Genetic mutation carriers confirmed by The Registry
  4. Register as a member of The Registry

How to Apply?
Step 1: Referred by a doctor at The Registry designated high-risk clinics
Step 2: Submit necessary documents (please refer to the details in the following section)
Step 3: Upon successful application, patients will be notified of arrangement

What Documents to Submit?

      • The programme’s application form 
      • Income Proof e.g. salary tax demand note or monthly salary record 
        • Address Proof e.g electricity, water or telephone bills   
          • Bank statement of the applicant in the most recent 3 months 
          • Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card
          • “Companion of THE REGISTRY” registration form
