Professor Ava Kwong, Chairman of Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry attended the Health Research Symposium, organised by the Food and Health Bureau on 23 November 2021. Professor Kwong was awarded Excellent Research Award and shared the findings on the project “Screening founder and recurrent BRCA mutations in Hong Kong and US Chinese populations”.

Over 800 medical and healthcare practitioners, academics, researchers, community representatives and the Government took part in the symposium which also commemorated the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Health & Medical Research Fund. Three categories of special honours, namely Outstanding Project Team on COVID-19 Research Awards, 10th Health & Medical Research Fund Anniversary Awards and Excellent Research Award were presented during the forum.
