Pink Ball 2008 - Swing Around The Night (21 October 2008)
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and along with the use of pink as a symbol for breast cancer became more creative, beyond ribbons.
Pink Ball 2008 is a signature event of The HK Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry Ltd. to promote awareness of breast cancer and to help raise funds to support research.
The first charitable event Pink Ball 2008 – Swing Around The Night was held in October 21, 2008 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong. It was our honour to have Mr. Anthony Wu, GBS, JP, Chairman of Hospital Authority, with us that night as our honorable guest. We are also grateful to have Dr. Joseph Chan’s participation. He put in great effort for the fabulous charity dance performance.
Funds raised from the event will be used to support the Hong Kong Hereditary and High Risk Breast Cancer Programme (HRBCP). In addition and more importantly, support will also be given to academic research to identify the epidemiological significance of hereditary factors in families in relation to the risk of breast cancer.

Estee Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign (30 September 2008)
On September 30, 2008, Estee Lauder Companies Ltd. had held a kick off ceremony of their breast cancer awareness campaign at Times Square, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. During the month of October, seven of its beauty brands had joined together to raise funds for the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Registry to conduct a breast cancer study for family members of breast cancer patients who aged 40 or under, to receive genetic counseling and testing for the mutations.
Times Square was illuminated in glowing pink light whilst celebrities were on stage spreading a health message to raise the public awareness of hereditary breast cancer.
