PINK DESSERTS for a cause 2014

The "Pink Desserts for a cause 2014" campaign kick-off Ceremony organized was successfully held at Felix, The Peninsula Hong Kong on 2nd September 2014. Over 50 guests from event sponsors, participating merchants, restaurants chefs and food critics joined THE REGISTRY’s Chairman Dr. Ava Kwong, 2014 Pink Desserts Ambassador Ms. Ivana Wong, oncologist Dr Tony Mok, celebrity chef Mr. Jacky Yu, TLC Ambassador Mr. Enrico Kwong and an up and coming female pop group sensation TATA (Kartina & Penny) from Taiwan, to launch the annual charitable citywide campaign “Pink Dessert for a cause”. The new campaign will last for three months from September to November, coinciding with the awareness quarter of Breast, Ovarian and Prostate Cancers, the main cancers affected by the BRCA gene mutations. Dr Ava Kwong's welcome speech set in motion the ceremony. She said desserts carry happy feelings, "staying positive can be one of the best ways to fight against diseases." She also invited Dr. Tony Mok to share his dietary and cookery knowledge. The two doctors together talked about some food relating myths on cancers and tips on a healthier diet.

Celebrity chef Mr. Jacky Yu explained his personal experience of desserts tasting followed by tips on good dessert preparation. Finally, Ms. Ivana Wong, 2014 Pink Desserts Ambassador, talked about her favorite desserts and encouraged everybody to take part in this meaningful Pink Desserts campaign. Ms. Ivana Wong then accompanied by Dr. Ava Kwong, Dr Tony Mok, Mr. Jacky Yu, Mr. Enrico Kwong, Kartina and Penny of Tata to complete a giant cake which reassembles the campaign logo. The cake completion symbolizes the launch of the quarter-long Pink Desserts campaign.
